College of the Desert presents: Peter and the Starcatcher

Auditions will be held by appointment in Theatre Too on the College of the Desert Campus 43-500 Monterey Avenue, Palm Desert 92260

Audition Information

Monday, September 11, 6-9pm

Tuesday, September 12, 6-9pm

Callbacks Wednesday, September 13, 6-10pm

Rehearsals start 9/25/2023.    

For initial auditions, please bring a short (1 minute) whimsical monologue from a play, committed to memory. Sides from the show will be provided for callbacks.

If cast, you will need to enroll in TA 022 Play Production/Acting.

Peter and the Starcatcher runs 6 performances in Theatre Too Nov. 10, 11, 17, 18 7pm, Nov. 12 & 19 3pm.  

Show Synopsis:

Peter and the Starcatcher is a play that provides a humorous and fantastical backstory for the beloved character of Peter Pan and his arch-nemesis Captain Hook. It is the prequel to the Peter Pan story. The play is set in 1885 during the reign of Queen Victoria and follows the journey of three orphan boys and a smart, witty girl named Molly Aster to the imaginary kingdom of Rundoon. Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair...and the bonds of friendship, duty and love.

College of the Desert is a California Community College and, as a condition of participation, each cast/crew member must be enrolled in a production-related course. TA 022 is the rehearsal and public performance of a large-scale theatre production.

COD students currently enrolled and/or continuing from Spring 2023, permission to add is required. If it’s been more than a year since you’ve taken a class at COD – or – if you’ve never been enrolled at COD, please apply for admission.
